Community Living Windsor

The access model for adults who have an intellectual disability in Windsor-Essex was designed through the joint efforts of the broader Windsor-Essex community including service providers, families, self advocates, and government. As a community, it was agreed that a common application form would be considered the intake and assessment method for individuals wishing to access supports and services.

Community Living Windsor provides support in ways that are designed to be flexible and based on people’s choices. Supports are developed in partnership with family and friends who are encouraged to assist in planning to identify lifestyle and personal support needs. People have choices of where they live, who they live with, how they live and the support they need to reach their own goals in life.

Community Living Windsor supports the freedom of individuals and their families to make choices and supports individualized funding as an option. We give people and families financial control of their individualized funds while assisting them to utilize their funds in an accountable and flexible manner.

Adult Resource provides a variety of leisure, recreational and personal development options for adults who have an intellectual disability. Located at 885 Northwood Drive, Adult Resource offers both day and evening supports.

Community Living Windsor’s Downtown Centre is located at 1225 McDougall Avenue. It is the home base for staff that provide support for individuals who do not want or need support workers present all the time. The individuals who receive support, along with their families, friends and support networks, provide the direction in which their support is provided.

Community Living Windsor matches persons with disabilities and businesses who are looking for employees. We provide training and support, and our goal is to create a win-win situation.

Venture Works is a comprehensive business development and employment service of Community Living Windsor. It is designed to empower people who have an intellectual disability towards an improved quality of life by providing various forms of employment opportunities.
