Community Living Windsor provides support in ways that are designed to be flexible and based on people’s choices. Supports are developed in partnership with family and friends who are encouraged to assist in planning to identify lifestyle and personal support needs. People have choices of where they live, who they live with, how they live and the support they need to reach their own goals in life. Independent Living SupportBased out of Community Living Windsor’s Downtown Center located at 1225 McDougall Avenue, support is provided for individuals who want to live a more independent life. Typically, people live alone or with a friend in their own apartment or home. Support is provided by workers in areas such as housing, employment, budgeting, cooking, housekeeping skills, nutrition, social network development, medical appointments and medication monitoring. If you would like to learn more about Independent Living Support or the Downtown Centre, please contact John Jackson, Manager, Downtown Centre at 519.256.1924 or email John at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. We work to match people who have an intellectual disability with others who can provide a caring and stable home environment. Associate families are individuals, couples or families who are willing to open their home and lives and come from all types of diverse backgrounds. Flexible supports are arranged for the associate family to ensure its ongoing success and that lasting relationships are developed. Reimbursement is provided to the associate family based on the individual situation taking into account the unique needs and interests of all involved. The satisfaction of everyone is regularly assessed on both a formal and informal basis and Community Living Windsor staff are available to ensure the best possible outcomes for everyone involved. If you would like to be considered as an associate family provider or learn more about Associate Family Support, please contact Domenic D’Amore, Director, Support at 519.974.4221 ext. 237 or email Domenic at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
