Individualized Funding Print E-mail

Community Living Windsor supports the freedom of individuals and their families to make choices and supports individualized funding as an option for people and families.

Under an individualized funding model:

  • Funding for disability related support goes directly to the person and/or his family/support network or indirectly through a transfer payment agency to a person.
  • The person and/or their family/support network either manages the funds, has someone to help, or hires someone to help them.
  • The person and/or their family/support network have control and choice in what supports they receive and how they are delivered.
  • Funds are flexible - based on the person's disability related needs.
  • Funds are portable - they move with the person. This means the person can choose who to buy their supports from and can move within the province and keep their funding.
  • Funds are used in ways that are planned, responsible and accountable to the funder.
